The Estia Filosofia Foundation’s mission acknowledges that each of us maintains and modifies our personal philosophy, over time, but that we may not be consciously aware of this, or of our philosophy’s salient principles, even as they govern our thoughts and actions. This is why the Foundation advocates a human-centric approach to help each of us become more aware of our unique philosophy to understand its impact on our thoughts, actions, groups, networks, and organizations etc. The Foundation strives to unleash personal creativity, energy, innovation, and resilience to help each of us become happier and more successful. Similar to Maslow’s hierarchy of ‘needs’, individuals and organizations are stratified according to Hamel’s hierarchy of ‘capabilities’, from the lowest level of unthinking ‘obedience’; to ‘diligence’; to ‘expertise’; to ‘initiative’; to ‘creativity’; and, finally, to the highest level of bold, entrepreneurial ‘daring’, akin to Keynes’ ‘animal spirits.’ Regarding both ‘needs’ and ‘capabilities’, therefore, the Foundation’s mission is to support each of us as we strive to attain higher levels within our personal and career ‘pyramids’.
